The cover represents an artistic depiction of the results presented in the paper by Onda et al., wherein protease sensor reveals cathepsin B-positive macrophage infiltration at the tumor margin in a rat colon carcinogenesis model. Together, these data demonstrate that systemically administered protease-activatable probe can effectively detect cancer invasive fronts, where tissue remodeling activity is high to facilitate neoplastic cell invasion.
