Journal of Physiotherapy is the official journal of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. The Editorial Board’s mission is to publish significant research which has important implications for physiotherapy. Our vision is for the journal to be the pre-eminent international publication of the science and practice of physiotherapy.
The APA journal has shown steady growth since it was accepted by Medline in 2001 and awarded its first Impact Factor in 2003. Calculations are in transition to reflect the revised journal title and in 2011 there is an IF for both journal titles: under its previous title Australian Journal of Physiotherapy the journal achieved an IF of 3.481, and under its current title Journal of Physiotherapy has achieved an inaugural IF of 1.917. The 2012 Impact Factor will be calculated on citations to Journal of Physiotherapy only. The journal now has extensive international reach through its inclusion on Elsevier’s Science Direct database, and physiotherapists publishing in the APA journal can be confident of reaching researchers around the world.
